Academy Founder & PGA Tour Coach
Matt is a GOLF DIGEST Top Teacher in American Under 40, A Golf Digest Top Teacher in the State of Florida and is regarded as one of the top elite junior golf coaches in the world. His students are from all corners of the world. He is an expert in golf techniques, motor learning, skill development and peak performance coaching. His mission is to help give golfers of all levels the direction they need to play their best golf and achieve their goals. The results from all the student's that have gone through his development programs speak for themselves.
Matt's teaching philosophy focuses on measurable differences between skill & handicap levels and laying out a systematic approach that is highly adaptive and individualized for each specific student and their own patterns and golf games. His goal is to help the student develop an understanding of their own tendencies, swings, thinking, and overall golf game while helping them play their best golf.
Matt's instruction with high level junior golfers focuses on establishing tour level short games, proper mental and emotional management in order to perform at a high level, and building a swing technique that is efficient, repeatable, and reliable under pressure.
All Matt’s players will have a system that helps them organize every aspect of their game as simple as possible and allow them to have the understanding in order to track their progression and diagnose problems or shortfalls on their own. As the player learns to organize their practice and simplify the game, they will be able to improve faster and find more enjoyment and success in their practice and on the course. Matt is an expert in swing techniques, but also an expert coach helping his players reach their peak performance.
There is no coach that dedicates more time to their players success than Matt.
Mike Berger, P.G.A
Director of Player Development
Mike is a PGA member, 13 year coaching veteran and has always been a student of the game. He uses his vast knowledge and experiences from his junior, collegiate and professional playing careers to help develop high level players. He is proficient with technologies such as TrackMan, FlightScope, SAM Puttlab, and V1. He also uses the DECADE golf system and statistical analysis to help players learn to manage themselves around the golf course. His competitive nature combined with a passion for the game reflects on his students and their success. Using a systematic approach, Mike can identify weaknesses and apply solutions to any part of a player’s game to see faster results. Mike Played on the golf team and graduated at Florida Atlantic University.
Lead Junior Golf Coordinator / Golf Coach
Florian “Flo” Kolberg is a PGA associate and PGTAA Class A member. He is a highly motivated golf instructor with a wide variety of teaching and playing experience. He was a world class amateur on the German National Team and Turkish National Team, and has 11 years of professional playing experience. Florian’s passion is helping golfers of all level become better at the game of golf. He has experience in swing analysis, speed training, short game development and course management. He prepares tailored solutions for each student which takes into consideration the players experience level, physical abilities, and desired learning styles. He is an avid junior golf instructor and has experience using the latest technologies including Trackman, Foresight sports, and Putt view.

Assistant Academy Director / Golf Coach
Matt has been a student of Matt DeJohn for the past 5 years and up until the 2022 season had his tour card on the KornFerry Tour.
Matt is an active member at the academy where he mentors our junior golfers and college players. He also serves as one of the house parents for boarding students. Matt’s experience through all levels of golf is a great asset to our academy players. His system on the course helps players to simply their strategy around the golf course to help players consistently shoot lower scores.
Matt also holds a bachelors degree in childhood education and played his college golf at Newberry College.
Some of Matt’s playing highlights include, qualifying for the 2017 US Open, Winning Multiple State Open Championships, and having four top 25 finishes during his 2019 season on the Kornferry Tour.
Elrick Van Eck
College Placement Consultant
Elrick is from South Africa and played college golf in America. He was a two time All-American and graduated with two bachelors degrees in marketing and advertising. After graduation he became the assistant coach for the Men's and Women's programs at Florida Institute of Technology.
After Florida Institute of technology, Elrick became the Men's assistant coach at Colorado State University where he helped turn the program into a top 25 division 1 program in the country.
After his collegiate coaching career Elrick took a job as the Director of college placement at one of the largest recruiting firms in the world and helped find scholarships for more than 200 golfers.

Melainey Gunning, LPGA
Lainey is a LPGA Class A member since 2002, teaching golf since 1996. She has a vast background, coaching golfers from all around the world, from the novice to expert player. She has been fortunate to teach alongside and learn from the most talented golf instructors in the industry.
Her experience has brought her all over the United States, conducting instructional clinics for amateurs, as well as assisting with golf instructor educational seminars. She has been nominated for Southeast Section Teacher of the Year 3 times, and served as a LPGA National Teacher Evaluator.
